More than 80 adoptions with Subaru's help! - Carla T
Our partnership with One Subaru of Hayward and Subaru's offer to award our shelter $100 for every adoption finalized from Oct. 1 to Nov. 14 gave Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS) a great tool to encourage adoptions this fall. This year we have steadily increased the number of adoption hours we are open each week. In October we expanded to Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. With One Subaru of Hayward's help, FAAS was able to finalize more than 80 adoptions during the Subaru Loves Pets event, including a litter of 10 puppies born under a warehouse on the old Alameda Naval base. The puppies' mother, a cattle dog that had been homeless and had evaded capture for several years, was also adopted! Our longest-term resident also found a home. We had had Louis for more than a year and now this lovely 2-year-old pit bull mix has found his furever pet parent. (Picture included.) Special thanks to Ana Gomez of One Subaru Hayward, for introducing us to One Subaru back in April when she treated our shelter staff to a "get to know you" catered lunch! We'd also like to give a shout out to Javaris Hankins at Subaru corporate for his assistance with some of the requirements of the October event. As Subaru fans (a lot of us drive Subarus) and a shelter eager to get more of our pets adopted, we look forward to thanking Subaru on all our social media channels soon and partnering with you again!
Juneteenth Hayward 2022 - Angela A. & Elisa M. - Angela A
One Subaru of Hayward made a positive impact on the Hayward Community in which we were able to expand our Juneteenth Hayward event, bringing over 600 people together to focus on health and wellness by participating in outdoor yoga, dancing, and connecting to community resources. Through their generous donation, One Subaru of Hayward demonstrated their love, respect, and commitment to making a positive impact in Hayward. We appreciate your generosity and you contributions in our community. We look forward to continuing our partnership.
One Subaru Celebrates Local Wish Kid - Anne M
On June 11th, 2022, One Subaru threw an amazing bon voyage party for wish kid Vaughn. In celebration of Vaughn's upcoming wish trip to the US Virgin Islands, the staff donned their Hawaiian shirts and created a tropical paradise. Vaughn, his family and friends were treated to lunch from a Fijian food truck while listening to Caribbean tunes. The One Subaru team surprised Vaughn with congratulations cards and a dry backpack bag filled with a beach towel, board shorts and sports t-shirts. Vaughn was ready to leave for his trip in style. Thank you One Subaru for celebrating Vaughn and making his wish experience even more special. And thank you to the Subaru of America for helping wishes come true.
